Wrap-Up: December 2018

wrap up - december 2018

Hello bookworms!
I’m obviously so behind since I am just now getting to writing my reading wrap up for December. I had a great holiday season but with that being said, I was very busy (who isn’t?) And with my husband leaving for another job in just a few short days, we have been enjoying each others company by watching movies and playing video games. When I was heading into the month of December, I knew I needed to read 17 books to complete my Goodreads reading challenge. And guess what? I did it! I may have read a lot of graphic novels and some collections of poetry to get there but I did it!! For the month of December I read 3,230 pages with 23 hours of reading. My average rating was 3.0. As always, I have reviews for all of these books, so feel free to check them out.

My favorite read was by far What Light by Jay Asher. It took me by complete surprise and I just fell for the characters and their story. I also read some poetry for the first time. I have to say that I am not a fan of Rupi Kaur. After reading Milk and Honey, and not liking it, some people recommended The Sun and Her Flowers. But I didn’t like that one either. I managed to pick up two of Atticus’ collections and I really enjoyed those!

How was your reading month? Did you read any new favorites? Thanks for reading!!RachaelInstagramPinteresttumblrTwitter

  1. I’m not a fan of Rupi Kaur’s poetry either. I cannot take to it and I personally think it’s not really poetry. To me it has to have a structure, rhythm, imagery to interpret and I got absolutely none of that with Milk and Honey. In future, I’ll stick to the classics.

  2. A Little Princess! Oh, that was a massive childhood love for me! Congrats on meeting your Goodreads goal 🙂
