Today I have a tag for you all. I was tagged by Ginny @ The Discerning Couch Potato to do the Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag. By tagging me in this, I actually found Ginny’s blog and it is just delightful. You should definitely head over to her page and give her a follow.
1. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging in August 2017, so I’m almost at my year bloggiversary! But to be exact, my first post was on August 20, 2017.
2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?
I have no idea. I have no plans to stop blogging as of right now. I feel that the more that I blog, the better I get at it and I would like to be great. So as of right now, I have no plans to stop blogging.
3. What is the best thing about blogging?
The best thing has got to be the amazing people that I have met through the community. Everyone is so nice and supportive and that alone makes it worthwhile.
4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?
I have a hard time being creative so coming up with my own ideas for posts is difficult for me. To make it okay, I just look to other blogs to see their amazing content and I try to come up with something on my own.
5. How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?
All of the pictures I use are my own. I started a bookstagram before I started this blog so I use my bookstagram pictures on my blog. I try to take my pictures on Sunday’s for the entire week and so far that has really worked well for me.
6. Who is your book crush?
Rhysand all the way from A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I also really love Dorian from the Throne of Glass series, Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games, and Ron Weasley from Harry Potter.
7. What author would you like to have on your blog?
I would love to have Marissa Meyer on my blog. Her writing and her books are so amazing and I would love to sit down and have a chat with her.
8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?
I wear whatever I’m wearing at the time. I don’t change my clothes just to sit down and write. Whatever I wake up in or whatever I’m going to be in, since those are the times I usually am writing.
9. How long does it take you to prepare?
Depending on the type of post it is can depend on how long it takes. But I would say anywhere from 30-60 minutes. Book reviews usually take a little longer if I’m going into an in-depth review but most posts don’t take that long.
10. How do you feel about the book blogging community?
As I mentioned before, the blogging community is amazing! As soon as I started blogging I had people reaching out to me and everyone is so friendly.
11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?
I think interacting with other bloggers is so important. I love reading the blog posts of the people I follow but it’s almost upsetting, if I continue to reach out and comment on their posts and I never hear back from them. I feel ignored and that I’m not worth their time so sometimes it makes me not want to even try. Now I’m not talking about, maybe you forget to respond to comments once or twice, I’m talking like every single post for the past month or two. So interact with your followers and interact with new bloggers. You can make some really great friends this way and have some great book conversations.
As always, do not feel obligated to do this tag if you have already done it and if you haven’t and you would like to, then consider yourself tagged by me! Thanks for reading, cya!
