Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 Books I’d Save from a Fire

top5tuesday

Hello bookworms!
It is time for another Top 5 Tuesday! Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, so be sure to check out her page to see the topics for this month. Today’s topic is Top 5 Books I’d Save from a Fire. These are the books I cannot live without! The books that I need to take with me everywhere I go!

Bible1

1. The Bible
Now, I have about 4 Bible’s but one of them is my main one. If I go on a trip or just to my parents for the weekend, I take it with me. I do keep a small pocket sized Bible in my car but that one rarely gets looked at because it’s so small. I love my Bible and I would definitely grab it before any of my books.

To Kill a Mockingbird1

2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
This is my favorite classic of all time and I can’t leave it behind. I have the 50th anniversary edition and I will always cherish it.

Heartless2

3. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
When I read this book, I had only ever read one fantasy book before. This book is the reason for my love of young adult fantasy. I have both the original hardcover and the OwlCrate exclusive cover, so I’m pretty sure that I would save the OwlCrate edition.

4. Scythe & Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman
I put both of these here because I am not going to run into my burning down house and just grab one of them. They are right next to each other on my shelves so I will be grabbing both. I just recently finished reading these two and they completely blew me away. They are now my favorite books/series of all time!

The Giver1

5. The Giver by Lois Lowry
Another book that introduced me to the world of young adult. I first read this book in the 8th grade and I loved it so much, I wanted more books that were just like it. I also cherish this book greatly since it had such a big impact on me.

What books would you save from a fire? Honestly, if there was a fire, I think that I would be too frazzled to even think about what books I was going to save. I would just start grabbing books. Thanks so much for reading, cya!

  1. OH! The Giver! I never even thought of that one! I have a bind up of the entire quartet that’s silver with embossed red leaves and it even has red pages! It’s a glorious edition and I totally need to find a way to save it! Even if I open the window and throw it outside lol!
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

  2. The Giver… Sadly, the only versions I have of The Giver are digital, but i’m with you about save it from a fire… To Kill a Mockingbird, could be also on my list but my edition is not particularly beautiful. My way of choosing would be really bad. Like if it’s a especial edition that i can only find once in my life (like “Cien años de soledad/One Hundred Years of Solitude” in the Spanish edition from Norma I will give everything to save it) but if it’s a edition with a bad translation it wont get in my list. (except for The Catcher in the Rye or Great Gatsby… those are in my list)

    1. The Great Gatsby!!! Yes, if this was a top 10 list, The Great Gatsby would have definitely been on it. But my edition is just the basic one. Plus I have an e-book of it as well.
