Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 Series I Won’t Be Finishing

top5tuesday

Hello bookworms!
It’s May 1st and we are starting the month out with a Top 5 Tuesday! This is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, so be sure to check out her blog for our topics for the month of May. This weeks topic is Top 5 Series I Won’t Be Finishing. This is going to be a little difficult because I rarely won’t not finish a series. Also, I’m not sure that I’ve read enough series to qualify for this but I’ll take a look at my shelves and see what I can come up with.

The Dark Tower1

1. The Dark Tower by Stephen King
This one is still fresh in my mind because I just finished reading it. I really disliked it! The characters, the setting and the story line just weren’t that interesting to me. After posting my review of it, a lot of people told me to keep going with the series because the first book is nothing like the rest of the books. But… I’m not sure if I will continue or not. I may pick up the second book but I have very low expectations.

A Wrinkle In Time1

2. Time Quintet by Madeleine L’Engle
A Wrinkle In Time is another one that I read pretty recently and I just didn’t care for it. It has four more books in the series and I can’t see myself ever picking them up. I read this in preparation of seeing the movie and I never saw it. It hasn’t been getting great reviews so I’ll just wait until it’s out so I can rent it.

The Giver1

3. The Giver by Lois Lowry
The Giver is one of my favorite books of all time. I first read it in the 8th grade and I still love it just as much, if not more! But I honestly don’t see myself finishing this series. At least not in the near future.

4. Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich
My sister-in-law has been reading this series and she lent me one called Double Plum, which had the stories Plum Lucky and Plum Lovin’. I didn’t hate it but it also didn’t make me want to read this series. Also, there are 25 books in this series. Isn’t that a bit much?

Murder On the Orient Express1

5. Hercule Poirot by Agatha Christie
Another one, that I just recently read was Murder On the Orient Express and I was completely let down by it. I did enjoy detective Poirot but for right now, I have no interest in reading any more books about him.

I cannot believe that I actually had 5 of these. It took me literally like an hour to find these so I can’t imagine coming up with anymore. Which series are you not finishing? Thanks so much for reading, cya!

  1. The remainder of the Giver series isn’t for everyone. They’re kind of like a set of companion novels that come together in the end. I don’t see myself reading a Wrinkle in Time…. I’ll just watch the movie lol
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

  2. Hi… I have a too much sagas that I will never finish (starting with The Black Dagger Brotherhood… too much books). And i’m with you about the giver. Is one of my favorites books i’ve had read it like 10 times (in English, in Spanish, in a paperback book and in eReader). I even find a version with the other books, and i ended the book and stop reading it. In my side is because i think that the book (and ending) was almost perfect so i’m scared that i wont like what comes next and will ruin my relationship with the first one…

  3. I absolutely loved The Giver books! And I think that they are definitely worth reading since you get so much more insight into the world. The second book is definitely my least favourite and almost made me stop reading the series but the third and forth books are amazing!! I would really recommend reading them 😀

  4. I read Gathering Blue (book 2 of the Giver) and it was okay. I have yet to read 3 and 4 but I heard book 4 ties them all in together and we get the story of what happened to Jonas after The Giver so I might give it a whirl but I can see why it’s not for everybody.
