Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 Series I Want to Start This Year

Aloha from Hawaii!
I am in Hawaii for two weeks and loving it! I just got here on Saturday but I’m already having a blast. This is my second time here and hopefully not my last. Today I will be participating in the Top 5 Tuesday post that is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. Be sure to go check out her amazing blog! This weeks topic is Top 5 Series I Want to Start This Year. I have a lot of series that I need and want to read so here are my top 5!

7BF9FF2C-AE71-4FD7-9EF3-92B84D532581.JPG1. The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien
As I have mentioned before, I am a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings movies and I really want to read the books this year.

2. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I’m actually in the midst of reading this series so I am happy that I will be checking this series off my list. Hopefully, by the end of the month!

3. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
This series is a hit or miss with people who read it. The reviews are kind of all over the place but I want to make my own opinion of them so they are going on my list. I’m also including all the Shadowhunter books in this. So The Infernal Devices and The Dark Artifices are included in this one as well!

4. Divergent by Veronica Roth
I never read this series before because I loved The Hunger Games and it just felt too similar. But my cousin loves this series and I’ve been meaning to read it for a while now, and I’m hoping this year is that year!

5. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
I just recently purchased this series. I read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and I really enjoyed it so I thought I’d pick this series up for this summer!

What series are on your list for 2018? Have you read any of the series I mentioned? What did you think? Let me know in the comments. I can’t wait to hear from you all!

  1. LOTR is a big investment in time, but well worth it. A time saving tip: If you find you don’t like reading the songs, you can skip them. I read them all, for fear that they had something to do with the story, and I’d miss out if I skipped them. None of them did. Not as far as I could see anyway. Maybe on some deeper level that I’m not smart enough to see…

  2. My jealousy that you’re in Hawaii right now is overwhelming…… I want to go there SO badly! Enjoy it a little bit extra for me! Great list 🙂 Throne of Glass was one I assumed I wouldn’t like but fell head over heels in love! Enjoy!
    Thanks for participating 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! I definitely will enjoy it a little more for you 😉 I always thought Hawaii was one of those overrated places but it’s really not and I would recommend everyone to come at least once in their life!
