Wrap-Up: Top 10 Least Favorite Books of 2017

Hello everyone!
So I recently did a post on my top 10 favorite books of 2017 and I thought that I should do another post on my top 10 least favorite books of 2017. Now these are all my opinions and if you enjoyed any of these books, I have no problem with that. I just did not find them to be entertaining or good, so please do not take any offense. The ratings are out of 5 stars, so here we go!

1. The Circle by Dave Eggers ⭐⭐⭐
I actually enjoyed this one for the most part, until the end. I also thought that the movie was not done very well, at all!

2. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold ⭐⭐⭐
My husband actually told me I should read this one because he enjoyed the movie. But, I didn’t really love the book or the movie all that much.

I picked this one up because a booktuber recommended it, but I was really disappointed with it.

IMG_44634. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver ⭐⭐
I read this one in anticipation for the movie and I just thought that it was WAY too long for the story line. It is very repetitive. However, I think that the movie was GREAT!

IMG_50755. The Last Star by Rick Yancey ⭐⭐| Review
The 5th Wave was one of my favorite reads from this year, so I was very disappointed when the rest of the series went downhill. This one being the worst in the trilogy.

IMG_49816. The Vatican Cameos: A Sherlock Holmes Adventure by Richard T. Ryan ⭐⭐| Review
The author sent me this book for review and I just couldn’t get into it. It was boring at times and read more like a history rather than a mystery.

IMG_45977. Dream House by Marzia Bisognin ⭐⭐| Review
I LOVE Marzia. She’s the only YouTuber that I watch that doesn’t talk about books, so when I found out that she wrote a young-adult horror book, I knew I needed to buy it and read it. But the story was very odd and it didn’t read like a horror, so I was ultimately very disappointed.

8. Girls In White Dresses by Jennifer Close ⭐⭐
I have read two books now by Jennifer Close and this one is the worst of the two. The story is all over the place and there are too many characters to keep up with.

9. Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar (Books #1, #4, #5, #8 and #10) ⭐⭐
I really loved the Gossip Girl TV show and my husband bought me the entire book series (13 books total). The books were not as good as the show and they just went on for so long. The characters are different from their TV show character and I just had too high of expectations.

I have only given two books a 1-star rating before, and this is one of them. I bought this book for about $3.00 at Books a Million because the cover is SO cute and when I read the synopsis and it said it was about two friends who go on a road trip, I was really excited! But the story is just so terrible. I didn’t like the writing and the characters were awkward. I would not recommend this book.

So there you have it! My top 10 least favorite books of 2017. Again, please do not be offended if you liked any of these books. I get that some of my least favorite books may be others favorite books and that’s what makes discussions so great. Do you see any books on this list that you liked? Or did you dislike them, like I did? Let me know some of your worst reads this year. Thanks for reading!
