Top 5 Tuesday: New to Me Authors In 2017

Hi everyone!

Here we are on yet another beautiful Tuesday. I can’t believe how fast this month is flying by but I honestly don’t mind because that means Christmas will be here in no time! I’m also really excited because this weekend I’m taking a trip to New Hampshire to visit family for a few days. I always love to travel and since I live in Florida, it’s going to be so fun and so exciting to be in a completely different climate for a few days.

If you would like to join the Top 5 Tuesday posts, make sure to check out the blogger who started it all, Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. She is so great and if you have any suggestions for topics, she is asking for your ideas for next year. This weeks post is Top 5 New to Me Authors In 2017. This is going to be hard to narrow down because I only started reading fantasy this year and I read so many great and new authors to me. So here we go…

E387CA17-B8EC-4A6D-BE6A-345E54E1EB6F1. Marissa Meyer
I have to put her first because Heartless became my favorite book this year. I then read the entire Lunar Chronicles in September and I just love her stories and her characters. I will always buy her books, which reminds me that I need to read Renegades ASAP.

So many people love Sarah J. Maas. So in October, I finally decided to read the ACOTAR trilogy and I am so glad I did. Even though I said Heartless by Marissa Meyer became my favorite book, after reading A Court of Mist and Fury, Heartless got bumped to the number 2 favorite. Maas’s writing just makes you feel caught up in the entire world and you feel like you’re there with the characters. I plan on reading the Throne of Glass series in January and I have high expectations!

36798344-5BE0-4157-A562-17D400C960373. J.K. Rowling
I’m 25 years old and yes, I just read Harry Potter for my first time this past summer. I have mentioned before that growing up, my parents didn’t allow me to read or watch Harry Potter, so I had no access to it. Plus, I was a very well behaved kid so I obeyed my parents for the most part, so there was no way I was going to try and sneak a book in my house. But I’m so glad I read them now. They are so magical and J.K. Rowling tells a wonderful story. Since then, I have been collecting so many Harry Potter items and I just keep adding to my collection.

B.A. Paris has two books out. The first one, Behind Closed Doors, came out last year and the second one, The Breakdown, came out this year. I read both this year and they are fantastic. She’s my new favorite thriller author and I will be picking up her new book next year, Bring Me Back.

AACAFD51-1A12-4ADC-B6B0-5C1224B89C7A5. Renée Ahdieh
When my cousin recommended The Wrath & the Dawn duology for me to read, I had no idea how gripping this story would be. I haven’t read Flame In the Mist yet, but I’m hoping to read it next year before the sequel comes out.

What authors were new to you this year? Do we have some of the same authors on our lists? Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have enjoyed. Cya!!
