Book Tag: Mid-Year Freak Out

I know it’s not really mid-year anymore, so I’m a little late, but better late than never! That’s so cliche! But anyway here are my picks for the mid-year freak out book tag.

1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far In 2017
Heartless by Marissa Meyer. This has been my absolutely favorite read. Not just this year but of all time. I will always recommend this book to my friends and family.IMG_4288

2. Best Sequel You’ve Read In 2017
The Rose & the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh. I just finished reading The Wrath & the Dawn duology this month and I LOVED it!! Such a great story with both action and romance.IMG_4211

3. New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To
The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell. I just picked this up literally yesterday. I have seen it all over booktube and bookstagram. So when I went grocery shopping yesterday, I saw it in the store and read the synopsis and it sounds incredible. I can’t wait to read it!IMG_4461

4. Most Anticipated Release of the Second Half of 2017
Renegades by Marissa Meyer. I am most anticipating this because duh! Marissa Meyer!! Need I say more?

5. Biggest Disappointment In 2017
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. The only reason I read this book was because of the hype and the movie that was released earlier this year. I gave this book a 2/5 rating because it is so long and repetitive. While the story line is very interesting, I felt that the book was just way too long.IMG_4463

6. Biggest Surprise In 2017
Harry Potter (all of the books) by J.K. Rowling. I know… I’m late to the game but I just read the entire Harry Potter series for the first time this summer and! I know this story has a huge fan base already and I had seen all the movies before but I guess it just didn’t click. But after reading the stories, I understand now! Definitely my favorite series of all time. I fell in love with the stories and the characters and the world. I just want more and more!!IMG_3972

7. Favorite New Author (Debut or New to You)
Marissa Meyer. Surprise Surprise!! Not really. But Heartless by Marissa Meyer was the first book I read by her. I know I need to read The Lunar Chronicles. I have them on my shelf on my TBR pile and I’m sure I will love them since Meyer’s writing is amazing!

8. Newest Fictional Crush
Jest! Of course he’s from Heartless by Marissa Meyer and he is wonderful!

9. Newest Favorite Characters
Shahrzad (The Wrath & the Dawn duology), Ron Weasley (Harry Potter), Fred & George Weasley (Harry Potter), Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter).

10. Book That Made You Cry
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix & Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (J.K. Rowling)…

11. Book That Made You Happy
Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. This book is just amazing and the movie is also great!IMG_3525

12. Favorite Book to Movie Adaptation In 2017
When a Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. This book was so incredible and beautiful and heartbreaking all at once and the movie was great as well.

13. Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year
The Wrath & the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh. I just started writing reviews about a month ago and I honestly like all of the reviews that I’ve written but this one stands out because I enjoyed the book so much.IMG_4154

14. Most Beautiful Cover You’ve Bought or Received This Year
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman. Have you seen this cover? It’s gorgeous!!IMG_3437

15. Books You Need to Read by the End of This Year
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, A Court of Thorns and Rose trilogy by Sarah J. Maas, The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien and so many more!! My TBR never seems to get smaller even when I read so much, the list continues to grow! It’s never ending.

This tag was fun!! So now I tag everyone who hasn’t done this tag yet!
